Poem: My Only Love

This love is consuming meIt’s creating the sinner in meTaking over my mind, body and heartWhen I’m with her I can’t let us be apartIt’s been like this between us ever since the startShe’s always been there to love and careWhen we’re apart if feels too much to bareWe stay strong united in our love for each otherBecause her love couldn’t be replaced by anotherWhenever I hear her whisper my nameI know that between us this love will always remainWe may fight and argueBut I know that this happiness inside of me is all down to youWhen I’m wrapped up in your armsI know that I couldn’t come to any harmAs its the safest place that I can ever beI hope that I never have to set you freeBecause that would destroy meAt night I lie in bedAnd its only thoughts of her that run through my headI know that not an inch of my heart could ever strayBecause with her I am meant to stayThe one who gives me a purposeWho tells me that I’m not worthlessEveryone can see that we are meant to beWe don’t need to think about the if, buts or maybeBecause together we can see the problems throughbetween us, just us two
