I’m not going to lie but if you haven’t heard of  Zoe Sugg aka ‘Zoella’ you must have been living under a rock somewhere for a very long time! Now anyone who knows me knows that I’m not really into all things beauty and fashion but I do enjoy vlogs and haul videos – both of which Zoe creates plenty of – so while I skip most of the make up orientated videos (sorry Zoe!) I do indulge in her other videos. But if you haven’t heard of Zoe then here are some fun facts for you all:- Currently has over 10 million subscribers- Her videos have over 600 million views- Lives in Brighton UK- Is currently in a relationship with Alfie Deyes (AKA Pointlessblog)- Her blog has over 500 million hitsI received Girl Online for Christmas 2014 when it came out November 2014 – everyone who knows me knows I love an easy read (which are usually aimed at teenagers!)

I spent a lot of time watching the build up for the book online, mainly via YouTube on both Zoe and Alfie’s channels.

Blurb:I have this dream that, secretly, all teenage girls feel exactly like me. And maybe one day, when we realize that we all feel the same, we can all stop pretending we’re something we’re not… But until that day, I’m going to keep it real on this blog and keep it unreal in real life.Penny has a secret.Under the alias Girl Online, Penny blogs her hidden feelings about friendship, boys, high school drama, her crazy family, and the panic attacks that have begun to take over her life. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets Noah, a gorgeous, guitar-strumming American. Suddenly Penny is falling in love – and capturing every moment of it on her blog. But Noah has a secret, too, one that threatens to ruin Penny’s cover – and her closest friendship – forever.Taken from Amazon – ‘here‘As a reader and a fan of both Zoe and Alfie it is always great watching them from the beginning of a project and seeing it all the way through to having it in my hands and seeing the physical product – it’s almost as though I have been a part of producing the product too!Now as the book, Girl Online is obviously aimed at a much younger audience than myself , me being 22, I wasn’t expecting the story line to be riveting. But I was wrong, once the story got of the ground, after a few chapters, I found that I had bought in to the characters and also the plot of the book. The audience for her first book Girl Online has received a lot of attention from the media for being ‘ghostwritten’, even if this is true I still feel that it was a good read! The characters, chapter length and plot were all well crafted to portray the messages within the book, anxiety, bullying, and relationships. It was definitely a nice easy read which I completed within a few days, which would make it a great summer book for on holiday! When I finished reading the book I was almost sad that it had come to an end but luckily I had the squeal ready and waiting to follow on the journey of Penny & Noah!- Stacey xo
