Yesterday I attended a vigil in Cardiff, UK for the Orlando shooting in Pulse.Â
I think it is heartbreaking that someone can cause this much devastation. The LGBTQ+ community works hard to ensure everyone in it, involved with it and those who support it are treated equally, feel loved, and safe. One person took that away from so many people in seconds. Those people who went to Pulse Orlando that night were going their because it was a place they felt safe. For many in the LGBTQ+ community the gay pubs and clubs are one of the few places that they can feel safe.Â
My thoughts go out to those who have lost their lives, those who are still in hospital, those who were injured, their families, friends, those working in Pulse that night, the emergency services who attended and are investigating the shooting and the whole LGBTQ+ community and the rest of the world who are trying to come to terms with the events that took place that night.
