A group of bullied kids band together when a shapeshifting monster, taking the appearance of a clown, begins hunting children. – IMDbI’m not the biggest fan of horror/thriller films – but when I do watch them I usually enjoy them. So when Maddie suggested we watched IT (one of her favourite films) I decided to give it a go.I haven’t read the Stephen King book that it is based upon or watched the original version of the film so when we watched it I didn’t have anything to base my opinion on purely what I was watching.Overall I enjoyed the film it had all the main components a horror film requires, tense at times, jumpy and a pretty decent plot. The main characters themselves (a group of kids) were all pretty likeable and had their own little stories within the main plot which I think made the film a little bit more engaging. However I was a bit on the fence when the film finished, as I didn’t really like the ending – it sort of felt unfinished. Which I later found out is probably because there is a sequel due to be released in September next year (2019). Without looking into it I think the sequel will probably be along the lines of Scream 4 but I think I would want to see it just to see how the story is continued – so in that respect the film makers have done a good job of the making IT.
