At the beginning of the year I set myself 5 goals for this year. I thought that being half way through the year this would be an ideal time to reflect on them.
Walk an Average of 10000 steps per day

I am definitely heading towards reaching this at the moment. It has been a bit up and down after breaking my foot again however the lockdown has meant I have started to get out for exercise each day. Plus my Fitbit is helping to keep me moving too!
Visit One New Place Each Month

With the lockdown in place this has been a little bit difficult to keep up with but I am hoping to visit a few new places before the year ends. I am also trying to use my daily exercise to explore different footpaths around where my parents live too.
Read 10 Books

I have been making quite a bit of progress with this over the last few months. I have also posted the reviews of a few of the books I have read here, by doing this is has helped to keep me on track. I also hope that it helps people to discover books they wouldn’t have thought of reading.
You can keep up with how I am doing with this by following me on Goodreads.
No Devices One Hour Before Bed

To begin with I was doing really well with this however I have slowly reverted back to my old habits of scrolling through social media before I eventually go to bed. I definitely think I need to be a bit stricter with myself in turning my devices of and switching off before I got to bed.
Make Healthier Food and Drink Choices

This was one of the areas I really wanted to focus on this year. I am that person who always has to snack, no matter what time of day – I love to eat. So I have made a conscious effort to cut back on my snacks and to try and make my meal portions a bit smaller and healthier. I have also invested in a reusable water bottle which has become stuck to my side, I also rarely drink any alcohol now and I have reduced the number of fizzy drinks I have massively. So I think I am doing quite well with this goal!
I think I am going to start setting some kind of monthly reminder to make sure I keep my goals in the front of my mind. Otherwise they tend to get pushed to one side of my brain and forgotten about!
