Storyline

Inspired by real events. With their partners away serving in Afghanistan, a band of misfit women form a choir on a military base in England and soon find themselves at the centre of a media sensation and global movement. (IMDb)

Military Wives was written by Rachel Tunnard and Rosanne Flynn and directed by Peter Cattaneo. The film stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Sharon Horgan and Emma Lowndes among others. It has a run time of 1 hour 52 minutes.

My Thoughts

Ever since I had seen the trailer for Military Wives, I had been wanting to see it but had kind of pushed it to one side. It was not until I saw a banner advertising it on my firestick on Amazon Prime one Sunday afternoon that I decided to give it a go.

I knew before starting it that it would be my kind of film, so there was already a good chance of me enjoying it.

I absolutely loved it. Military Wives really felt like it ticked all the boxes for me to make a good Sunday post roast dinner film.

It is just one of those easy to watch feel good films that you cannot help but love.

There are some funny moments and some emotional ones too giving the storyline good balance the whole way through.

I would definitely recommend giving Military Wives a watch if you are into films which are easy to follow and have a feel-good nature.
