My Thoughts

Having read and seen a few good reviews for Fatherhood I decided to give it a go.

The film is based upon a simple but beautiful storyline which could be argued by some as predictable at times due to not being anything particularly ‘new’. However, the film does everything right, it sets the tone and pace of the story very well. The flashbacks between past and present are placed just right and brings to life some of the stereotypes of being a single father.

Kevin Hart a very good comedian who I thought would struggle to play a role like this. However, I was surprised as he pulls off the emotional role very well and makes the character come to life. The supporting cast are also brilliant however I think some of the characters could have appeared more within in the story to develop their characters further. I particularly loved Lil Rel Howery’s character, Jordan who brings a little bit of humour just at the right moments.

Overall, you can probably tell, I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.
