My Thoughts

To be honest I wouldn’t have given Summerland a go if Marysia hadn’t told me about it and pushed me to give it a go.

I originally intedned to have Summerland on in the background whilst I did some painting during the afternoon. However I was soon hooked as the storyline pulled me.

I loved the character of Alice (both young and old). I loved how she was seen as different and an outsider of the community but by the end of the film you could see how her relationships with those around her progressed. However it is very easy to fall in love with all of the characters in Summerland as all of the actors and actresses portray their characters in a way that brings them to life.

This would really make the perfect post Sunday lunch film. It has a strong storyline which touches on a variety of emotions as the plot develops, you could argue it is predictable at times. However I think that adds to the charm.

I was going to give it 4 stars but looking back, I really can’t think of anything to fault with it. Summerland is a seriously good uplifting movie, that ticks all the boxes.
