Monday 4th October 2021
I knew I had to get up with my alarm this morning despite it being my day off and I was not ready for it. I dragged myself out of bed and threw on some clothes before heading out for a walk.
I made a cup of tea and some toast before havign a catch up with my Mum and Dad. I then needed to phone the doctors to sort my prescription out which I manage to do a lot quicker than I thought I would.
It was then time to get stuck in and do some studying. I got myself caught up on my Google IT Course before I had a break to walk down to Tescos. I really wanted some chicken wings for my lunch!
Once I walked back from Tesco I had a proper break from studying to eat my lunch and watch an episode of Good Trouble as the second half of the 3rd season became available on BBC iplayer. I ended up watching all the way through to the end of the season. But I did complete my first week of reading from my textbook as well as the second week of reading which takes the pressure off a little bit.
I then made some dinner before attending my first webinar of this module. It was only an hour and as soon as it was finished I jumped in the shower before settling doen for the night.
Tuesday 5th October 2021
I felt like a zombie all day, then ended up not being able to fall asleep.
Got frustrated so stayed up even later.
Wednesday 6th October 2021
I made a mistake this morning.
I woke up at half 6 desperate for a wee, went and got back into bed and went back asleep. My alarm went off at 7 and I did not want to get up again. I should have just stayed up at half 6.
I eventually rolled out of bed at 8am and rushed around getting ready and making my breakfast before setting up for work.
It felt like the day dragged a little bit but I went for a walk on my lunch break to the shop and had a chat with my Mum and Dad.
After I finished work I had planned to do some studying and planned an hour in but I just do not have the energy to do it today. I am listening to my body and am going to keep winding down so that I go to sleep at a reasonable time.
I am so glad I only have 2 days left in work this week.
Thursday 7th October 2021
Despite a helicopter flying over the house late last night I managed to get a pretty decent nights sleep (9 and a half hours to be exact) so I woke up a bit more with it today – definitely an improvement on the last few mornings!
After I woke up I made myself some breakfast and a cups of tea before putting some washing on. I had a little bit of time before work to read for a bit.
Work was busy but the day passed relatively quickly.
Once I finished work I did a little bit of my Google Course and spoke to my parents. I then did a little bit more of the embroidery I have started today I learnt how to do an outline stitch and a French knot – it isn’t the tidiest embroidery but it is a starting point!
I am going to spend the rest of the evening reading my book before heading to bed.
Friday 8th October 2021
WHAT A DAY!
I am SO glad that is is finally the weekend.
I actually woke up okay this morning, and it wasn’t as much of a struggle to get out of bed as it has been…. slow progress.
I had some breakfast and a cups of tea before getting started with work. It was a bit of a hectic morning and I was glad by the time my first break game around.
There was then a bit of stress over the electric but it’s all good now.
Whilst that was going on I went to pick my prescription up however the pharmacy said they hadn’t received it from the doctors. This meant I had to go to the doctors who had to reprint my prescription for me to take it to the pharmacy for them to make it up. What a palava!
This evening I have packed my bag for going to Marysia’s. I don’t actually need too much so that was pretty straight forward and I also sorted my case for staying at my parents which means I have one less job to do on Sunday when I get back.
I have had a nice hot shower to help me wind down ready to head to bed.
I have put my camera on charge ready for tomorrow and also cleared my memory cards as I am hoping I can get a few videos this weekend!
It is definitely ready time to get lost in my book and crash for the day… I have an early train and a million alarms set.
Saturday – 9th October 2021, Shopping with Marysia
I was up quite early this morning as I needed to get into town in time for my train. Luckily all of my stuff was packed and sorted yesterday so I didn’t have too much to do.
The bus literally came around the corner as I got to the bus stop which was pretty good going. I actually enjoyed the ride into town as the bus was quiet and the roads were empty.
I had quite a bit of time to kill before my train so I had a quick chat with my Mum and Dad on the phone before waiting on the platform for my train to arrive. I has been SO long since I used the train to visit Marysia and it was quite a good journey.
Once I got off the train Marysia was waiting for me in the station. We headed to the car park before driving to the shops.
Marysia had a few things that she wanted to buy but the the first stop was Costa to get her morning coffee fix! Once that was consumed we had a wonder around the shops and Marysia picked up the things she needed.
It wasn’t long before lunchtime rolled around and we joined the queue for Wagamama. I really enjoyed our lunch, I had katsu chicken curry plus we also shared these shredded duck steamed buns that were really tasty!
After lunch we popped into Levi’s before heading home.
Once we got in I took Boris straight out for a little walk. He was so excited to see us, it was really cute!
When we got back from our walk Marysia tried on a few of her clothes before playing her game and I watched a few episodes of Wentworth.
The day seemed to fly by and it wasn’t long before it was Boris’s evening walk time so I took him out and enjoyed the last of the evening light.
Our evening was spent watching Black Widow together before crashing in bed. I read a little bit of my book before falling asleep.
Sunday – 10th October 2021, Memory Walk
We were up early this morning as we needed to head to Cardiff to meet my parents for the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk.
As soon as we woke up I took Boris for his first walk of the day although he did try and get a long walk out of me but we didn’t have time! Once we got back Marysia already had his breakfast ready for him and it wasn’t long before we were in the car and on the way to the station.
We got to the station a little bit earlier than we had planned so we jumped on an earlier train. We then found out there was a problem with the track and ended up sitting on the train in the station for half an hour before deciding to drive to Cardiff as we could end up being late!
The drive was quite quick, but being a Sunday and still quite early it meant that there wasn’t many people around yet. We parked up and headed over to meet my parents by the Castle. Once they arrived we went and had a look at the stalls that were set up. I got a pin and a tag to put on the tree in memory of my Nan.
Before we set off on the walk there was a little Zumba warm up which was really fun.
Our start time for the walk was at half 10 and went in a loop around Bute Park. It was quite a nice length and luckily the sun was shining!
When we finished the walk we were given a little medal and a bottle of water. We took a few photos together by the finish line before heading into town.
We sat in Starbucks for a little bit, Marysia needed her coffee fix, and had a little bit of a catch up with my parents. As we still had time to kill before our lunch reservation we went and had a look in WHSmith.
After we had finished looking in the shops we started to walk over to the Brewhouse and Kitchen. We arrived earlier than our table was booked but luckily the table was ready when we arrived. The food was amazing! I had a 3 meat roast followed by a cookie and ice cream dessert. The staff were really friendly too which always makes it more enjoyable to eat out. I would definitely go back there.
Once we finished our lunch Marysia and I headed back to her car so I could collect my bag before she headed off back home. I then walked back to my parents to pick up a few things they brought up for me, before heading to catch the bus home.
I am SO tired this evening. I will definitely sleep well tonight that is for sure.
