Weekly Diary: 8th – 14th November 2021

Monday 8th November 2021

Today I really enjoyed taking Boris out for his daily walks and hunting down a coffee for Marysia which meant I could try another festive hot chocolate.

Although Marysia was joking that we ended up in Tesco’s after trying almost every other coffee shop which seemed to be REALLY busy! However, my hot chocolate was SO good!

Tuesday 9th November 2021 – My Birthday

I have had such a great day today celebrating my birthday!

Waking up and spending my birthday with Marysia was great! I opened my presents and cards in bed before getting up and having a cups of tea. Marysia then sang me happy birthday with a caterpillar cake!

I went out with Boris for his morning walk – it was little bit chilly!

I then spent ALL day doing basically nothing but watching telly cwtched up on the sofa. Marysia spent all day asking if I wanted to do anything and I was like NOPE this is the perfect birthday. I was very much in my element sitting under the blanket drinking endless cups of tea.

In the evening Marysia took me out for dinner. She had reserved a table at Miller and Carter and had told them it was my birthday so that when we got there they had written ‘Happy Birthday’ in chocolate on a slate – which was really nice!

By the time we had finished dinner we were both incredibly full but the food and service was amazing, as usual!

I literally had THE best birthday!

Wednesday 10th November 2021

After one last walk with Boris this morning it was time to head back to Cardiff.

After unpacking and repacking my case due to getting a train tomorrow to see my family I spent a bit of time relaxing and catching up on some telly.

Thursday 11th November 2021

I was up early this morning as I had to catch my train to Cambridge as I was going to spend a little bit of time with my family.

The was an issue with the train getting into London which meant I was late getting my train out of Kings Cross and missed it by 2 minutes. I rang my parents to let them know I was having to get a later train and went and found somewhere to sit and wait out the time. I had some food in my bag so ate my sandwich and a crushed mini roll to pass the time.

Once I arrived at the station my parents were there waiting for me. I had left my mental health bear (Barney with my Mum and Dad as I didn’t have enough space in my bag bring him back last time) and my Mum was waiting outside the car with him holding a sign. It was a little bit embarrassing!

Once we got back to my parents house my brother and sister gave me my birthday presents which had a little bit of a Harry Potter theme! There was also time for a cups of tea before getting ready to go out for a meal.

In the evening we went out to celebrate mine and my Dad’s birthdays – the food was amazing, I was very full (I don’t think I had yet recovered from Miller and Carter) before heading back to my parents for a couple of drinks and another birthday cake!

I was so happy to crash in bed after travelling and eating ALL the food – I think Barney was too!

Friday 12th November 2021

It was a very chilled day! Which took Barney and I a while to get out of bed- Bertie prefers his own bed, although Barney takes up enough room I don’t think they could both sleep in the bed with me.

I woke up with really sore hands which were a little bit swollen and something I am going to have to keep an eye on.

Saturday 13th November 2021 – My Dad’s Birthday

As it was my Dad’s birthday today I woke up early to blow up and put some balloons up with some banners. It took a while and the pins did not like going into the shed but I managed to hammer them in (sort of quietly).

Once everyone woke up my Dad opened his presents up and we all got ready for the day.

I headed off to Stevenage with my parents as my Dad wanted to have a look in a model shop there and I also wanted to go to a Christmas shop which was close by.

After my Dad had finished looking in the Model shop – it was tiny but had A LOT of stuff in it, we headed to the Christmas shop which is called ‘The Magic of Christmas’. As we pulled up it looked like it was going to be really busy and seemed quite popular.

The shop was FULL off all kinds of different Christmas decorations and lights with different themes. I loved it and despite it being really busy I managed to have a look at everything as well as purchase a few new decorations for our tree!

When we left my Dad suggested going to Scotsdales to have a look at the Christmas decorations there. I didn’t end up buying any here but I did enjoy having a look around as they always do a good display.

Once we got back to my parents I spent a little bit of time wrapping some Christmas presents for my family.

Sunday 14th November 2021

It was a very chilled out day today and we didn’t leave the house but after yesterday I think I needed it!
