It took me quite some time to actually decide on what my goals would be for 2023. In fact it was only during this week that I revisited the goals I was setting. This was due to the fact that when I was carrying out my 2022 goal review I had realised I wasn’t specific enough with what I wanted to achieve. This led to me mulling over what I had already written down and really considering what I want to get out of this year and how I could do that.

Word of the Year

The first step I decided to take was to think of a word that represented how I wanted 2023 to look. After a little bit of brainstorming I decided on ‘transformation’.

So 2023 is going to be the year of transformation.

Why did I think this would be the best word to represent the year I hope to have? Quite simply, there are many areas of my life that I have reflected upon and have thought about improving and changing, what better opportunity than now?

What are my goals for 2023?

Using Emily Excels habit tracker I got stuck in to making a plan, deciding on my goals and breaking them down into more achievable steps.

Here are the goals I have set:

Career:

  1. 10000 blog views
  2. 500 YouTube subscribers
  3. Achieve a minimum of 70% on DE200
  4. Improve my time management

Creative:

  1. Complete my crochet blanket
  2. Complete 12 paint by numbers
  3. Complete 12 diamond paintings

Personal Development Skills:

  1. Read 23 books
  2. Journal
  3. Wake up by 7am every morning

Relationship:

  1. Quality time with Marysia
  2. Quality time with family

Health & Fitness:

  1. Lose 40kg
  2. A minimum of 7500 steps per day

Financial:

  1. Save £2000
  2. Create 1 month emergency fund
  3. Create sinking funds

Do I think these goals are achievable?

Quite simply yes. However there are a few things I need to do to ensure that I do accomplish my goals for 2023.

I need to schedule time within my calendar to complete some of these activities. This will ensure I prioritise them and don’t put them off. Secondly, I need to ensure I check in with these goals and reflect upon my progress regularly. Thirdly I need to keep these goals in mind even when life gets busy and other things crop up.

I will reflect on my progress throughout the year and will do a 2023 goal review in 2024 to see how successful my year of transformation really was.
